How do I change my Pay & Go iPhone data settings?

As long as you have iPhone 4 or update iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS with Apple iOS 4, you will be able to send higher quality picture messages.



If you have Pay & Go for iPhone, you will need to ensure that your data (APN) settings are reset. To check this follow the instructions here:




The data settings in your iPhone are automatically set to Pay Monthly, so if you are a Pay & Go customer you will need to change the settings to get things like mobile internet to work.

To do this follow the step by step guide below
Tap Settings on the Home Screen






Tap General





Tap Network





Tap Cellular Data Network





The below screen will be displayed





Tap APN in Cellular Data



Amend the APN from idata.o2.co.uk to payandgo.o2.co.uk as shown below (Please note that "o2" needs to be written with a letter "o" and not a zero)





Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap APN in MMS (Please note that Visual Voicemail isn't supported on Pay & Go, so there's no need to update the Visual Voicemail APN)





Amend the APN from idata.o2.co.uk to payandgo.o2.co.uk as shown below (Please note that "o2" needs to be written with a letter "o" and not a zero)




The below screen will then appear






Finally, turn your iPhone off and then back on again


Please note: anytime you insert a different SIM or reset your network settings you will need to follow this settings change.
